About the Program

Graphic Communications, B.S.


The Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications is designed to provide technical management opportunities for students who have an interest in a career in graphic communications or those employed in the digital media and entertainment industry. It was developed in response to needs identified by this industry and in cooperation with the area community colleges offering two-year graphic communications/printing programs.

The total number of units required for the Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications is 120 units, of which 72 units are in the major. Consult with an advisor for the specific number of units required in all areas of the degree including GE and free electives.

Admission to the Program

All students must meet the admission requirements of the California State University, Los Angeles. Generally, if a student were in good standing at the last college attended, he/she may be admitted as an undergraduate transfer student.

Requirements for the Program (72 units)

A total of 72 units are required with 48 semester units of required courses, 18 semester units in emphases, and 6 semester units in technical electives with advisor approval.

Computer Science Option: (18 units leading to a minor in Computer Science)


Management Option: (18 units leading to a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management)


Electives (6 units) with the approval of the advisor
