Fiscal Resource Office
Purchase requests, travel expenses, and other financial support.
In support of the University’s mission, Procurement and Contracts is committed to customer service and business while providing essential professional procurement functions to the campus. These functions include placement of purchase orders, creation and management of contracts, and management of the procurement card program.
UAS Financial Services provides accounting, payroll, and budgeting and investment management to all the UAS operating divisions and to many campus programs. Support provided includes working with the University on system upgrades and changes, daily processing of purchase orders and check requests and cash receipts, payroll and tax reporting and preparation of monthly financial reporting for management. Financial Services manages the annual external audit, prepares and administers the UAS budget process in addition to coordinating and responding to requests for information from the University.
In support of the University's mission, the University Controller's operation is committed to customer service and business while providing essential professional financial functions including auxiliary accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
ECST IT Support
Support for college computer equipment, technology, and software by ECTS ITC.
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides technology services and support to Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff at the University level. The ECST ITC support is at the college level.
ECST Technician Support
Support with lab equipment and student projects or design and fabrication consultation.
ECST Makerspace
Facilities for Cal State LA Students & Staff to design and build with state-of-the-art equipment.
Communications & Creative Requests
Creative material and communication requests for website, print, online, and more.

Cal State LA's Office of Communications and Public Affairs manages internal and external communications, including marketing, media relations and public information. Its efforts center on building awareness and recognition of the achievements of those in the Cal State LA community and furthering positive relations with the campus community and its many audiences.
The Office oversees print and digital forms of communication, including website design and content, graphics and editorial standards, university publications (including California State University, Los Angeles Magazine, Connections, The Insider, and University Reports), along with other responsibilities on behalf of the University.

Note: All Cal State LA logos for colleges, divisions and offices, as well as institutes, initiatives, centers and programs connected to the University are approved and created by the Office of Communications and Public Affairs. All requests for an alternate logo must be sent to the office, which will create the new logo if approved.

When purchasing branded merchandise using university-managed funds, the following is required:
- Please email the layout/graphic to Hasmik Simon at [email protected] for an initial branding review. Please remember to use the approved University branding (Cal State LA, not CSULA.)
- Please select your vendor and ask them to provide a "layout proof." Public Affairs requires this to ensure the vendor understands and follows brand guidelines.
- Hasmik will submit your vendor's layout proof and Creative Review request to Public Affairs for review, feedback, and approval.
- Fiscal questions and procedures may be directed to the ECST Resource Office at [email protected].

Cal State LA's procurement office will not issue payment to a vendor unless you have received prior approval from Communications and Public Affairs. To receive approval, please follow these steps:

Send a design proof produced by the vendor to Hasmik Simon at [email protected], who will work with Public Affairs to request a review and approval for your branded purchase.

Please allow 3-5 business days for the Office of Communications and Public Affairs to review your request. Approvals are required for all items, including those that you are re-ordering.

The Office of Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) will review and reply with any needed revisions.

If revisions are needed, Hasmik will communicate the request, and you will need to send your revised vendor-produced proof to [email protected]. Please remember to allow 3-5 business days for the Office of Communications and Public Affairs to review your revised request.

The Office of Communications and Public Affairs will send an approval email if no further changes are needed.

Forward the approval to procurement, along with the final approved artwork, to help expedite the processing of your requisition/PO or your procurement card purchase.
Finalize the order with your vendor
Once you have obtained all necessary approvals, you may proceed with your order. Remember to save your email approval from C&PA for your backup paperwork.
