All levels of personal, club, and class experience are required to complete the ECST Student Safety Training (Online) and Makerspace specific workshops (in-person) prior to use of equipment. You will be turned away if you have not completed both. If you are enrolled in senior design, you are still required to complete both workshops and trainings.
Training workshops are open for those with little to no experience with our machines. This is hands-on training from the basics of turning on the machine, setup, and manufacturing.
Refresher workshops are available for those who have taken ME 2030, TECH 1600, or equivalent courses or if you have prior experience with a similar piece of equipment.
All workshops are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Workshop sizes vary depending on the topic and machines available. To get signed off, you must take notes and show them to the shop steward conducting the training. Sign ups for the workshop are done during Makerspace hours through the Shop Supervisor, Leslie Cano.
