Music Performance for Non Majors

Elementary Voice (MUS 2300)

MUS 2300 is a group voice class with emphasis on healthy voice production, song study and interpretation, basic musicianship, and performance practice.

Symphonic Band (MUS 3209)

The Cal State LA Symphonic Band is the instrumental ensemble designed for all levels of brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians. Anyone is welcome to join and no audition is required. If you play a wind or percussion instrument and want to continue performing while at Cal State LA, this is the ensemble for you!

Concert Choir (MUS 3269)

The Concert Choir is a large mixed choral ensemble open to students, faculty, and staff.

Orchestra (MUS 4329)

The Cal State LA Orchestra is open to bowed string instrumentalists (violin, viola, cello, double bass) of intermediate level and above. If you played a stringed instrument in middle or high school orchestra or took lessons, join us! The group prepares two concerts each semester with repertoire of all styles. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome.

Mariachi Ensemble (MUS 4309)

Cal State LA's Mariachi Águila de Oro is open to all students in the University and performs one concert each semester.
