The Bachelor of Science degree may be earned in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in Engineering with Special Option.

Programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. All accredited programs are required to provide the following minimum level of instruction: one year of mathematics and basic sciences; one and one-half years of engineering science and design (engineering topics); and one-half year of humanities and social sciences.

The Bachelor of Science degree with Special Option, which is not accredited by EAC/ABET, is a program that allows students to prepare for innovative careers in engineering through interdisciplinary combinations of course work in areas such as manufacturing engineering.

The total number of units for the Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with Special Option is 184-186, of which 152 units are in the major. Consult with an advisor for the specific number of units required in all areas of the degree including GE and free electives.
