Clearing the Way for Careers in Engineering
“Growth Sector and Cal State LA Host Second Annual Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Pathway Showcase”
What does the path from community college to an engineering career look like? At the second annual Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Pathway (EDAP) Showcase, students will share the projects, experiences, and paid workplace opportunities helping them take that next step.
The Summer Making, Academic Prep, and Research for Transfer Students (SMART) is an exciting, hands-on internship program sponsored by Growth Sector's Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Pathway (EDAP) program and hosted by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Cal State LA.
Hosted by Growth Sector, Cal State LA, and Caltrans, the event will feature lab tours, an industry panel, a student poster session, and opportunities to connect with engineering interns, educators, public agencies, and industry partners. Learn how the program supports students as they transfer, pursue bachelor’s degrees, and gain professional experience along the way.
Designed specifically for motivated community college students with a passion for STEM, the SMART Internship offers a unique opportunity to explore academic and research pathways in a dynamic summer setting. Participants engage in immersive workshops, collaborative projects, and cutting-edge research activities, all while building the skills and confidence needed for a successful transfer and continued academic success.
Join us Friday, August 7, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Cal State LA’s Engineering and Technology Courtyard.
