Student Resources

The Office for Financial Aid and Scholarships assists current and prospective students with financial assistance available from federal, state and institutional sources for their attendance at Cal State L.A.

Student Health Services provides free or affordable health care and health education for Cal State L.A. students, including: Chiropractic, Dental, Nutrition, and Optometry clinics; family planning and emergency contraception; counseling, psychological, and psychiatric services,  laboratory, pharmacy and x-ray, and massage therapy.

The University's technical support resources include loaned computers and hot-spot devices for students to use at home, computer labs and printers on campus. 

Check out Cal State LA's academic support resources for students, including The Center for Academic Success (CAS). CAS tutors offer a one-on-one opportunity to discuss your assignments and will provide you with tools to become an independent scholar. The appointments are 30 minutes long. Log on to the Student Success Collaborative portal to make an appointment online.

The Erika J. Glazer Family Dreamers Resource Center promotes the success of undocumented students and students from mixed-status families at Cal State LA through programs and services like weekly immigration legal clinics, California Dream Act Application for Financial Aid Assistance, and professional and academic development workshops. 

The Office for Students with Disabilities provides a range of supports for students with disabilities, including alternative testing, note-taking, accessible technology, and disability-related counseling.

The Career Development Center can assist students in identifying on- and off-campus jobs, internships, and professional career placements. The Career Development Center assists students at all levels including as alumni.

The Gender & Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) at Cal State LA is dedicated to creating safe and respectful learning spaces, catering specifically to the empowerment of Womyn, Men, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning/Queer (LGBTQ) community. The GSRC prides itself in challenging societal norms that have been used historically to oppress and marginalize, while raising awareness on contemporary issues we face.  The Center is located on the second floor of the University Student Union, inside the Cross-Cultural Centers. It is open and available to all.

The Cross-Cultural Centers (CCC) is comprised of the following centers: Asian Pacific Islander Student Resource Center; The Chicana/o Latina/o Student Resource Center; The Pan African Student Resource Center; and the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center.  The CCC is located on the second floor of the University Student Union, and offer a comfortable and vibrant space where students gather to study and create community, as well as refrigerators and microwaves to store and heat food.

The Center for Student Involvement is the hub for student activities on campus.
