*ECST Graduate School INFO WEEK* Day Three
[ 11:00-12:00 p.m. ]
// Data Science and Internet of Things //
Data Science is a new field of research and study that aims to develop automated techniques to extract knowledge or insight from large-scale data and use this insight for future purposes such as prediction, decision making, or recommendations. We see and use the applications of data science every day in our life from social media and online shopping to healthcare, from entertainment to self-driving cars and smart cities. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a fast-growing field that enables smart homes, remote medical and healthcare services, automated agriculture, environmental monitoring, and many useful industrial applications. IoT integrated many modern technologies, including sensors, communication systems, cloud computing, cyber-physical system security.

// How To Apply To Grad School //
Come learn about the application process to the graduate programs offered at ECST (/ecst/graduateprogram) and get your questions answered in this interactive session."
[ 3:00-4:00 p.m. ]
// CSU-LSAMP Info Session //
California State University – Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (CSU-LSAMP) is a comprehensive, statewide program dedicated to broadening participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. We offer supports and resources to help prepare underrepresented minority students who majored in STEM for career and grad school, i.e. academic resources, professional development.
[4:30-5:30 p.m. ]
// Robotics and Intelligent Systems //
The foundation of robotics and intelligent systems combines multi-disciplinary engineering expertise in mechanical, electrical, and computer systems to create automated solutions to problems that society faces, including those within manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, infrastructure, and the environment. Learn about what we research in the fields of robotics, enhanced sensor processing and control systems, and autonomous systems.
