Welcome to Spring Semester 2018!
Dean’s Message

Photograph of the Dean of the CCOE, Dr. Cheryl Ney

I hope your winter break was a restful, renewing, and re-energizing time for you. After our winter “time away,” we can all return to our work ready to enter into this semester with the energy, passion, and vision that embody the faculty, staff, and students of the CCOE.

Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote, “We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right.” And there is much work to be done in Education here in East Los Angeles and nationwide. Education is a civil right and the cornerstone of a democratic society. I know that everyone in the CCOE is collectively engaged in this important work.

Let us rise to King’s challenge to creatively use time for the opportunity to do right. As you explore our website, check out the upcoming CCOE events – like the upcoming Education Career Fair, the Mental and Behavioral Health Conference, and the Gear Up 4LA College Experience Day – find ways to connect with and take part in the creativity in action at the CCOE community.
