2020 National Summer Transportation Institute California State University, Los Angeles High School Program is here, and there is no better time to think about your future by participating in a FREE two-week summer program! From June 29th to July 10th, 2020 the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at Cal State LA offers a no cost program, called the National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) that can help you with your educational and career decisions.
WEEK ONE: Transportation Projects & Enhancement Program
1. Get exposed to new ideas and concepts
2. Explore:
- Careers in Transportation
- Computer Training including Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Fun math, physics problems
3. Develop presentation and study skills
4. Work on:
- Solar Powered Vehicle
- Pop Bottle Rockets
- Towers & Bridges
5. Field trip to transportation agency
WEEK TWO: The Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy Program
- Fun, interactive aviation at Flabob Airport in Riverside
- Get exposed to aerospace/aviation world
- Air traffic control
- Use flight stimulators
- Field trips to aviation sites
- Even fly an airplane
