The MA in Special Education, Option in Multicultural/Multilingual Issues in Special Education offers in-depth study of theory, policy and practice issues focused on the needs of multicultural and multilingual students with disabilities. It provides candidates with advanced interdisciplinary preparation to work with exceptional learners and further research in the field. The program incorporates the education specialist credential requirements in various specializations (e.g., Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, Early Childhood Special Education) and offers a broad list of electives that are tailored to the candidates' needs. The candidates can obtain a bilingual teaching certificate as a part of the program.
