The Honors Convocation/Day of the Educator Celebration is an annual event that honors students from the College of Education at Cal State LA who are completing their credential programs. It also recognizes graduate degree students for exceptional academic performance. Special Recognition in Graduate Studies is awarded to graduate students who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher and complete 80% or more of their programs by the end of Fall Semester 2023. Additionally, the event will acknowledge outstanding fieldwork site supervisors and school partners.

Special Recognition in Graduate Studies is awarded to graduate students based on maintaining a

The Golden Apple Awards recognizes outstanding mentor/master teachers and site supervisors who play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting aspiring educators during their fieldwork/internship. These exceptional individuals exemplify teamwork and understand the importance of collaboration in ensuring high-quality supervision of educators. With a profound understanding of the standards, curriculum, and objectives of the preparation program, they provide tailored guidance to meet the unique needs of each student.
Dedicated to continuous growth, they stay abreast of the latest advancements in their field and integrate this knowledge into their mentorship approach. Their diagnostic decision-making skills enable them to effectively address challenges and foster the professional development of their mentees.
School Site Supervisors are recognized for doing an outstanding job this past year, in mentoring and guiding the professional development of our teachers, specialists, school psychologists, counselors,
and school leaders.

FAQ's
The RSVP link has been sent to invited students. The deadline for RSVPs is May 1st.
We suggest arriving at the Golden Eagle Ballrooms between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. Please ensure everyone is seated by 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, kindly check in with the COE staff assigned to your program. Be prepared to collect your name card and seating information.
Please note that guest seating is limited to three (3) guests per RSVP. We have reached maximum capacity for this event and cannot accommodate additional attendees who did not RSVP by the May 1st deadline. Kindly remind your guests that students and guests will be seated in separate sections.
Yes, each registered student will receive up to one (1) parking pass. You can use this pass for yourself or your guests. We encourage carpooling. Please remember that you must RSVP to request a parking pass. Further instructions will be emailed to you after you RSVP.
Permit Invite Information:
If you have RSVP’d AND requested a parking permit, you will receive an email from [email protected]. You must have an updated browser. If you have trouble opening the link, use a Chrome browser on a laptop or desktop. If you didn’t get the email, please check your spam or junk folders. The permit is virtual, therefore you do not have to print or display a permit in your vehicle.

Yes! Every student who RSVPs will receive a certificate at the event. Students who cannot attend may pick up their certificate after 5/9 in the COE Dean's Office, KHD2069.
After the event, there will be a small reception just outside the Golden Eagle Ballrooms. All students and their guests are welcome to attend. We'll be serving appetizers and nonalcoholic drinks, offering a great opportunity to mingle and take pictures. Please note that the menu is subject to change, but we'll ensure a delightful experience for everyone
