Canvas Integration Request

Overview

Instructors may submit a request to integrate an external tool or app with Canvas LMS. CETL and ITS will evaluate all integration requests. All Canvas integrations must meet accessibility, security, and privacy standards before being added to Canvas.

To initiate a new request, complete the following steps:

1. Review the current list of Canvas Integrations.

The tool or app you wish to use may already be integrated in Canvas.

2. Submit a new Canvas Integration Request to CETL.

A completed CETL request form provides the CETL LMS Administrator with information to conduct a risk assessment, and to begin installation and testing. When filling out the form, you'll be asked for technical and privacy documentation (e.g., installation guide, HECVAT). The product vendor or publisher representative should provide you this information.

3. Complete the ITS ICT-PAR form.

The ICT-PAR form provides ITS Campus Accessibility information they need to evaluate product accessibility. For more information about the process, including a walkthrough video please visit the Acquiring Accessible Information or Communication Technology webpage.

Reach out to your college Information Technology Consultant (ITC), as they can assist you with this form.

4. Await further instructions.

With all forms and documentation submitted, the integration timeline may require up to one month, but may take less time. New integrations are first added to the Canvas test environment for instructor verification and evaluation.
