National Council of Jewish Women | Los Angeles

Scholarships

NCJW|LA understands that higher education is the stepping stone to economic mobility. That is why they have 11 scholarships available to support students of all background in a variety of subject disciplines. Their scholarships are available to non-traditional students with financial need across the greater Los Angeles area, including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties (With the exception of specific scholarships for UNLV students).

Their mission is to commit to advancing economic justice and equity for women and their families. The scholarship committee is looking for a diverse group of deserving students twice a year, in the Fall and the Spring to support achieve their academic goals.

Human Rights Watch

Student Task Force Liason

Human Rights Watch (HRW) advances human rights worldwide by investigating wrongs, exposing facts, offering solutions, and challenging those with power to respect rights. The Student Task Force (STF) is a HRW sponsored youth leadership-training program that brings together high school students from the Los Angeles area and empowers them to advocate for the human rights of children. HRW STF staff and STF teachers partner to mentor students in leadership skills and activism, fostering confidence and maturity among students, enabling them to become effective voices for change and social justice within their communities.

The HRW seeks a highly qualified Liaison to create digital human rights education programming and toolkits in support of the Student Task Force’s annual advocacy/activism campaigns. The Liaison will also develop and implement plans to reach a growing constituency of students and teachers, with special attention to under-served students in Los Angeles-area schools with inadequate resources for human rights education.

Arts in Action Middle School

Resource Teacher (Mild/Moderate Credential)

Arts in Action Middle School has an immediate need for a Resource Teacher (Mild/Moderate Credential). They are a small LAUSD approved charter school located in East Los Angeles, focused on teaching students to become active critical thinking citizens. Beyond the regular curriculum, they also place an emphasis on the socio-emotional wellbeing of every student and on social justice topics.

Their special education team is small, but with expanding staff and resources. The caseloads are around 12 students per special education teacher. They place an emphasis on inclusive practices and all students participate in the general education classroom. They have a great supportive and collaborative team of special education teachers and paraprofessionals!

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience preferred

Mid-Level Supervisor
Position Description:

The Midlevel Supervisor provides supervisory oversight to Behavior Technicians.
