The classic H. G. Wells 19th Century Science Fiction Novel about an invasion of Earth by alien beings from Mars gets placed in November of 2020 in a modern update as frighteningly real as our current world situation. Locked down by the Corona Virus, dealing with issues of racial and social injustice and in the aftermath of the November 3 election, a group of Los Angelenos find themselves face to face with an invading army of extraterrestrial beings. With the downtown skyline in flames and cell phones being blocked ("so much for 5G") the internet remains the only communication tool available for a band of good friends to try to rescue family and avoid alien death rays and direct blood-bathed confrontation.

Using OBS (Open Broadcast Software), the action of the live play performance includes scenes on the devastated streets of Los Angeles, alien invaders, decimated hospital hallways, and emergency metro bus evacuations all performed in the safety of every cast members’ home. The WAR OF THE WORLDS takes the latest Zoom innovative technology to a new and bold level making LIVE DIGITAL THEATRE an art form you must see to believe.
