CSGS Faculty Research Contest

Center for the Study of Genders and Sexualities

Faculty Fellows Research Awards, 2018-2019

Proposals due Friday, November 30, 2018 at 5pm.

EXTENDED TO Friday, December 7, 2018, 5 p.m.

The Center for the Study of Genders and Sexualities announces an open competition for two CSGS Faculty Research Fellowships for work in the area of genders and sexualities. Although all topics concerning genders and sexualities are welcome, we are especially interested in research that explicitly takes up the study of genders and/or sexualities at the intersections of race, class, ability, nation, belief, or other dimensions. Engaged scholarship that involves collaboration with community-based agencies and/or that yields community-relevant results is also especially welcome, as is scholarship that involves and/or impacts CSU students.

Two awards will be granted. The award includes 3-units of release time. Release time will be taken in Spring 2019. Presentations by the winners of the competition will be expected in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.

All tenured and tenure-track Cal State LA faculty are eligible to apply. However, probationary tenure-track faculty will receive priority as will faculty from disciplines that have not been awarded CSGS research awards in the past.
