“Pop Culture: Selections from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation"
The Ronald H. Silverman Fine Arts Gallery will feature an exhibition of POP Culture: Selections from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation, opening on June 1, 2019, with a private reception and preview. Curated by Billie Milam Weisman, this exhibition includes the works of Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Jenny Holzer, Keith Haring, Nam June Paik, Richard Artschwager, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselman, Yayoi Kusama and more.

The Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery was recently renamed as the Ronald H. Silverman Fine Arts Gallery. Professor Ron Silverman was a Cal State LA alumnus; upon graduation in 1955, he began teaching at Cal State LA and, after also serving as department chair, retired as Professor Emeritus of Art in 1988. Professor Silverman was an internationally respected teacher of art education and was among the earliest academicians in the U.S. to develop an official art education curriculum. The Department of Art also offers a scholarship named after Professor Silverman.
