Getting Started

Navigate Cal State LA

Can I come to campus?

  • To comply with public health orders, you should avoid coming to campus unless you are visiting the COVID-19 testing site with an appointment until further notice.
  • Essential student services can be accessed in ways that do not require in-person interactions. Please review the Student Services webpage for information about specific services.
  • The health and safety of our University community and supporting you on your path to graduation are our top priorities. Our actions are informed by advice and guidance from public health experts. Practicing physical distancing and avoiding contact with others at Cal State LA and other public spaces can help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Are all classes virtual and when do they begin?

Classes begin Monday, January 25. Find details on how to view your class schedule, log in to the Canvas learning management system and more on our Virtual Learning webpage. Contact your instructors if you are unsure about how to start the semester in their classes.

Because of the continuing threat posed by the pandemic, Cal State LA is delivering a majority of its classes virtually for spring 2021, rather than on campus. Nursing students should contact the Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing with any questions about their courses.

How can I access Wi-Fi hotspots and laptop loans?

The Office of the Dean of Students has a limited number of laptops and mobile hotspots for loan to students who have a need for this technology in order to be successful in their remote learning and classwork. Sign up online for the Spring 2021 Laptop & Hotspot Loan Program.
