Welcome Week is a series of events and activities to get you in the Golden Eagle spirit during the first two weeks of the fall semester. Connect with other students, faculty and staff, and learn about valuable University resources. Find details on the Welcome Week website.

How can I learn about and join student organizations?

Cal State LA has over 150 recognized student organizations that contribute greatly to the student experience. Find details about engagement opportunities and how to join these student groups on the Presence platform. Cal State LA students can create an account through the Presence platform to start getting involved with organizations, learn about events and get connected!

What virtual events and workshops are taking place in the fall?

Find details about many virtual events and programming taking place throughout the semester on the University Calendar and the University-Student Union Calendar

The Center for Student Involvement ­is planning events that include a music trivia contest, digital escape room and more. Learn about social justice and become more culturally aware through engaging programming offered by the Cross Cultural Centers.

The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) will also be hosting virtual Health Huts covering health-related topics on Instagram Live every Wednesday. To find out how to participate and win prizes, follow them @CalStateLASHAC

How can I find out about virtual fitness classes and other programming offered by Cal State LA Recreation?

Take part in virtual fitness classes, e-sports tournaments and receive peer nutrition education from Cal State LA Recreation all semester long.

How can I learn about student government, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI)?

Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is Cal State LA’s student government body. ASI provides shared governance and involvement opportunities for students. For more information, visit the ASI website. 

How can I learn about our LA Golden Eagles athletics teams and student-athletes?

Fall athletic competitions have been canceled by the California Collegiate Athletic Association and the NCAA Division II due to the pandemic. You can still keep up with our all-star student-athletes by following the LA Golden Eagles on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and by visiting the LA Golden Eagles website until competition can resume.

How can I get an alumni mentor?

The Cal State LA Alumni Association offers an Alumni Mentoring Program that can help you build connections with alumni and non-alumni professionals, both locally and around the world; with Cal State LA faculty and staff; and even with fellow students, both undergraduate and graduate. Learn more and get started with the Cal State LA Alumni Mentoring Program
