Scholarship Opportunity

Transforming Youth and Family Mental Health
in Los Angeles

Cal State LA, powered by a historic philanthropic investment, is expanding enrollment, increasing scholarships, and strengthening support to prepare more counselors and social workers to serve LA’s schools and communities

This transformative gift will significantly expand student scholarships, so that our students can focus on preparing to be outstanding counselors and social workers and then transition into public and nonprofit roles that address the mental health and wellness needs of youth and families. Awards are set at up to $25,000 (1‑year MSW), up to $21,500 per year (2‑year MSW), and up to $20,000 per year (School-Based Family Counseling), in coordination with existing state and county grants.

Join one of our three outstanding programs with longstanding partnerships in East Los Angeles and surrounding neighborhoods, ensuring your preparation and service are embedded where they are needed most.
