University Library Updates: Fall 2022

Aug. 17, 2022 | 9:00 a.m.

Cal State LA and the University Library continue to carefully plan for a strategic return to campus with your health and safety in mind. Recent updates from the LA County Department of Public Health have resulted in changes to protocols on our campus.

Students, faculty, and staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and receive a booster.

  • Surgical masks or higher level PPE, such as an N95, KN95, or KF94 face coverings are required when inside the library. Surgical masks are available for students, faculty, and staff in dispensers located in buildings throughout campus, often near main entrances, stairwells, or on various floors. The dispensers also offer hand sanitizer.

  • No food or drink permitted inside the library except for water in a resealable bottle.

  • Self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms is still required. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, have had contact with a known COVID-19 case in the last 10 days or are currently under isolation or quarantine orders, please stay home.

  • Various study areas, seats, bathrooms, offices, departments, floors, etc. may be closed or have reduced capacity.

  • Hand sanitizer is available for public use at various stations in the library, including the main front entrances on the first floor of both buildings and on most floors.

Cal State LA continually updates their Return to Campus page. On the website you’ll find important dates, vaccination requirements, campus messaging, frequently asked questions and more. We recommend you check this site frequently for campus-wide information.

Additionally, the Health Watch page provides information about vaccinations, COVID-19 testing, campus messages and other information
