Composition of the Dean's Office Personnel Committees

One personnel committee is elected annually.

The probationary and tenured faculty members of the college shall elect a peer review committee(s) of tenured faculty members. When there are insufficient eligible members to serve on the peer committee, the college shall elect members from a related academic discipline(s).

(The Committee, as a whole, must take responsibility for the following tasks: Temporary Appointment; Retention; Range Elevation; and Evaluation of Temporary Faculty. It is required that each unit indicate below which Committee is responsible for each of these tasks.)

Temporary Faculty Committee

Conducts all evaluations associated with temporary faculty. It recommends policies and procedures for the evaluation of temporary faculty and faculty for inclusion in the temporary faculty pool.

As part of the supplemental file, a temporary faculty member can demonstrate currency in the field by providing detailed course syllabi, examinations, assignments, and other materials relevant to the temporary faculty assignment. Other examples of currency in the field may include activities of scholarship relevant to the temporary assignment, such as posters or presentations at professional conferences; publications in peer-reviewed journals; published book or film reviews; films and videos; attendance and participation in workshops, panels, and discussion forums; and other creative or scholarly activities that reference, synthesize, and/or critically evaluate current and salient issues in one of teh fields housed in a Department in the College of NSS or the scholarship of teaching and learning in that field.
