Domestic Applicants

Applicants who are U.S. Citizens, U.S. Residents, or other U.S. immigrants.

First-Time Freshmen are current high school seniors who will be graduating by Spring 2026 or previous high school graduates who have not taken any college courses after the summer following high school graduation.

February 6, 2026If applying to Music (BM), complete the Music (BM) Admission Audition requirement.
February 15, 2026Official English Language Proficiency exam scores (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo English), if applicable; and if attended non-US schools, submit official transcripts to the Admissions Office.

Lower-Division Transfers have attended or are currently attending a college or university and have earned less than 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units.

If you are reapplying after December 1, 2025, please submit the Returning Student Verification eForm to request a special code before accessing the Cal State Apply application.

Majors with supplemental admission requirements: If applying to Nursing - Basic Pre-Licensure BSN or Music (BM), you must apply by December 1, 2025.

January 15, 2026
(by 8:59 pm PST)		If applying to Nursing - Basic Pre-Licensure BSN, submit the supplemental Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing (PACSON) Application via the NursingCAS.
February 6, 2026If applying to Music (BM), complete the Music (BM) Admission Audition requirement.
Within 30 days of application submission, and no later than April 30, 2026

Approved Readmission Petition, if left Cal State LA in disqualified academic status. Contact the College for your new desired major for a Readmission from Disqualification meeting appointment at least 2 weeks before this deadline:
