Parking Events & Reservations

CAL STATE LA PARKING SERVICES IS HERE TO HELP PROVIDE A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR VISITORS.

Cal State LA’s Parking Services is a self-funded program of which 100% of the program’s budget comes from permit sales. Event guests that do not meet the guidelines for parking waivers are required to purchase a valid parking permit when parking on campus.

For visitors conducting non-state business, departments may purchase parking permits through the parking reservation process and providing a chargeback account number.

Please consider the following parking information when inviting visitors or event guests at Cal State LA.

All visitors and guests to Cal State LA are required to purchase a Cal State LA Parking Permit. 

Daily Permit Rates

1 hour - $3 (Lot 4A located by the Administration building and Student Union lot only)

4 hours - $5

All Day - $10

2-Wheel - $4

Special Event Permit -$11 (Includes Luckman, Athletics, and other special events held on campus). 

Bus Permit - $40 (Bus parking on campus requires approval and scheduling by the Welcome Center Event Coordinator. To request bus parking, submit an Event Parking Request form 2 weeks before the event date. Bus Drop-Off & Pick-up Locations: U-SU Loop, South of Structure B (adjacent to Circle Drive)

PARKING RESERVATIONS:

Campus departments may arrange parking reservations in advance for visitors by providing a chargeback account number. *(If a reservation includes more than 6 guests, an Event Parking Request Form is required). CSLA affiliated parking rate is $8.00 per day/per vehicle. An additional 8.5% administrative fee will apply to the final cost.

The parking reservation rate is $8.80 per day/per vehicle and includes the New City of Los Angeles 10% Parking Occupancy Tax. An additional 8.5 % administrative fee will apply to the final cost.

The campus has transitioned to virtual permitting and uses license plate recognition technology. This system helps reduce waste and eliminate the production of plastic permits, in line with Cal State LA’s commitment to sustainability. Physical parking permits are no longer used. Vehicle information including license plate number, make, model and year is required when requesting a parking reservation. For more information, click on the Cal State LA Parking Permit webpage.

Visitors may also pay to park on the day of arrival by purchasing a daily parking permit from the PayByPhone app or at the yellow permit machines located in designated campus parking lots and structures.

*Hourly permit rates do not apply to Parking Reservations.

EVENT PARKING INFORMATION:

Cal State University Los Angeles is host to numerous internal and external events. It is strongly encouraged that all patrons review the University’s Parking Rules & Regulations in advance of their visit to the university and purchase a parking permit through the PayByPhone Mobile App or Online through the parking webpage. For most events, permit invites for event guests may be coordinated in advance. Event parking permits are also available for purchase at the yellow permit machines on the day of event.

  • Campus Affiliated Events - $10 per space/per event/per day. An additional 8.5 % administrative fee will apply to the final cost.
  • Unaffiliated Campus Events - $11 per space/per event/per day. The parking rate includes the New City of Los Angeles 10% Parking Occupancy Tax. An additional 8.5% administrative fee will apply to the final cost.
  • A two-week period is required for processing event parking arrangements. The Parking Event Form must be submitted to Parking Reservations at [email protected] fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the date of the event.
  • Parking lot accommodations may be subject to change due to parking availability.
  • Event sponsors are responsible for informing all participants of parking locations and costs, if applicable.

In special circumstances, complimentary parking may be extended for reservations or events who fall under the following categories:

  • Speaking at no cost to the university in scheduled academic courses
  • Prospective and major donors of the university sanctioned by the Office of the President
  • Applicants scheduled for university state employment interviews 
  • Campus advisory groups officially sanctioned by the University
  • Dignitaries or government officials visiting in official capacity
  • Media representatives covering campus events or interviewing campus members (with prior approval from the Office of Communications and Public Affairs)

To see if your event qualifies, submit a Parking Event Waiver Request Form fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the event.  This is submitted via email to [email protected] attention Welcome Center Coordinator.

 

SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS

Cal State LA Parking Services may provide upon request or as needed for campus safety the following:

Custom Signage - Custom signage on A-frames and/or on the electronic marquee directing guests to parking and building locations. Fees for signage are listed on the Parking Event Form.

Event Staffing - In maintaining our goal to provide a safe and accessible parking during events, it will be necessary to have traffic officers deployed when high vehicle occupancy limits are reached. Traffic officer services include traffic control, informational guidance, pedestrian safety, and assistance with permit purchasing options. A minimum of 4-hour service deployment per officer is required during events. Hours of service are determined by the start and end time of the event, and the projected start of ingress/egress of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
