CAL STATE LA PARKING SERVICES IS HERE TO HELP PROVIDE A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR VISITORS.
Cal State LA’s Parking Services is a self-funded program of which 100% of the program’s budget comes from permit sales. Guests of events that do not meet the guidelines for parking waivers are required to have a valid parking permit when parking on campus.
For visitors not performing state business, departments may purchase and reserve parking permits through the parking reservation process by providing a chargeback account number.
Please take the following parking information into consideration when inviting visitors and planning events at Cal State LA
All visitors and guests to Cal State LA are required to purchase a Cal State LA Parking Permit.

PARKING RESERVATIONS:
Campus departments may make parking reservations in advance for visitors who are required to pay for parking (Reservations should not exceed more that 6 visitors). A chargeback account number must be provided at the time the reservation is made, plus an 8.5% administrative fee will be added to the final bill. The parking rate is $8.00 per day per vehicle. Unaffiliated Departments would be required to pay an additional 10% Parking Occupancy Tax. Should your Reservations Request be more than six (6) guests, it is considered a Parking Event and requires a Parking Event Form.
Vehicle(s) information including make, model, year and license plate numbers may be requested when placing a Parking Reservation. The campus parking permit system is virtual and uses license plate recognition technology. This system helps reduce waste and eliminate the production of plastic permits, in line with Cal State LA’s commitment to sustainability. Visitors may also pay to park on the day of the event by purchasing a daily parking permit from the PayByPhone app or the permit machine located in designated campus parking lots and parking structures.
*Hourly rates cannot be purchased through Parking Reservations.

EVENT PARKING INFORMATION:
Cal State University Los Angeles is host to numerous internal and external events. It is strongly encouraged that all patrons review the University’s Parking Rules & Regulations in advance of their visit to the university and purchase a parking permit ahead of time through the Pay By Phone Mobile App or Online through the parking webpage. In special circumstances, permit invites for event guests may be coordinated with advance notice. If a parking permit cannot be secured in advance, event parking can be purchased from the parking pay stations on the day of the event.
- Campus Affiliated Events - $10 per space. per event, per day, plus an administrative fee
- Unaffiliated Campus Events - $11 per space, per event, per day, plus an administrative fee
- A two-week period is required for processing parking arrangements for an event. The Parking Event Form should be emailed to [email protected] 14 calendar days prior to your event date.

In special circumstances, complimentary parking may be extended for reservations or events who fall under the following categories:
- Speaking at no cost to the university in academic courses
- Prospective and major donors of the university sanctioned by the Office of the President
- Applicants scheduled for university state employment interviews
- Campus advisory groups officially sanctioned by the University
- Dignitaries or government officials visiting in official capacity
- Media representatives covering campus events or interviewing campus members (with prior approval from the Office of Communications)
To see if you qualify, submit a Parking Event Waiver Request Form fourteen (14) calendar days before your event. This form can be submitted via email to [email protected] attention Welcome Center Coordinator.
SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS
Cal State LA Parking Services may provide upon request or as needed for campus safety the following:
Custom Signage - Custom signage on A-frames and/or on the electronic marquee to direct guests to parking and building locations may be requested. Fees for signage are listed on the Parking Event Form.
Event Staffing - In maintaining our goal to providing safe and accessible parking during events, it will be necessary that traffic officers be deployed when high vehicle occupancy limits are reached. Traffic officer services include traffic control, informational guidance, pedestrian safety, and assistance with permit purchasing options. A minimum of 4-hour service deployment per officer is required during events. Hours of service are determined from the start and end time of the event, and the projected start of ingress/egress of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Charges will be assessed for any of the above services or signage provided for the event based on the requirements outlined in the Event Parking Guideline.
