INTRODUCTION

I am committed to promoting the excellence of teaching and learning and providing the best service to our students. I view teaching as a service provided by me to my students and this service is available when my students find it necessary. I believe the role of a professor is to promote the students' learning potential through effective classroom teaching and research supervision.

TEACHING INTERESTS

My teaching interest is in areas of biological psychology and health psychology. I have taught courses such as introductory psychology, introduction to behavioral neuroscience, advanced behavioral neuroscience, health psychology, stress and wellness, psychophysiology, drug use and abuse, and advanced psychobiology.

RESEARCH

I am interested in conducting research in emotion perception and expression and physiological indices of emotion using facial EMG recording and functional MRI mapping methods.

CLASSES TAUGHT

  • PSY 388 - Sex and Gender (cross-listed with BIOL 388N)
  • PSY 450 - Principles of Health Psychology
