F-1 and J-1 Duration of Status Remains in Effect
On September 14, 2026, a federal court temporarily blocked the new rule that would have ended Duration of Status (D/S) for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors. The existing D/S framework remains in place, and no action is required from students or scholars at this time.
