Open Enrollment begins September 15 and ends October 10, 2025.
During Open Enrollment, you can enroll in, change or cancel your benefit plans. Here are some important highlights for 2025 Open Enrollment:

- Rates for most health plans will change effective January 1, 2026 (see attached rate sheet).
- New Pharmacy Benefits Manager
- CVS Caremark will replace OptumRx for several CalPERS health plans (see attachment).
- Members will receive new ID cards and instructions to access Caremark.com and the CVS Health app before January 1, 2026.
- Health Plan Updates
- Blue Shield Access+ expands into Monterey County.
- Blue Shield Trio exits Monterey County.
- Benefit Design Changes
- PERS Gold: Preventive care credits continue (up to $500) with new activities added, such as Diabetes Prevention Program participation and depression/anxiety screenings.
- Legal Insurance: Expanded services to support legal and caregiving needs for parents and grandparents. New monthly cost: $17.70.
- Critical Illness: Health screening benefit updated to $200 for one eligible screening annually.
- HCRA/DCRA Contribution Limit Increases
- Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA): Annual maximum rises to $3,300 ($275/month).
- Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA): Annual maximum rises to $7,500 ($625/month).
