Welcome to the Yoshie and Yoshiharu Ohara Virtual and Augmented Reality Immersive Learning Center
Our state-of-the-art virtual simulation lab was made possible by multiple generous donations that have allowed us to provide Cal State LA students access to innovative tools to further enhance their education. At the Ohara Center, learners participate in immersive simulated healthcare experiences designed to give them an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge, develop clinical reasoning, and foster emotional intelligence in a challenging but safe environment.
The Ohara Center is home to the Virtual Reality Fellows Program which utilizes nursing students to facilitate simulated experiences for their peers and near peers. The emphasis on peer-to-peer learning provides both facilitator and learner an opportunity to grow through engagement and guided reflection. The Ohara Center serves over 300 students per semester and is dedicated to sustained growth and continued innovation.
