CIS Students win the Poster Competition at the Annual CSULA-Student Research Symposium

CIS students Timothy Hoang and Yin Kau Chan win the Poster Competition for the College of Business category mentored by Dr. Shilpa Balan at the Annual CSULA-Student Research Symposium held on February 24th 2017.

In the Annual Student Research Symposium event held at CSULA on February 24th, 2017, CIS students Timothy Hoang and Yin Kau Chan won the poster competition for the College of Business category. Their research titled ‘Data Analysis of Green Environment in California’ involved conducting data analysis of the green environment in California. Dr. Shilpa Balan, CIS professor, mentored students Timothy and Yin with their research work. Dr. Balan supervises both undergraduate and graduate students’ research primarily focused on Business Intelligence and Analytics, and Healthcare Informatics.

The CIS Department would like to congratulate the students Timothy and Yin and also takes this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Balan for her mentorship activities of the students’ research.
