Effective Fall 2018, students enrolled in the Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BS ME) program are no longer required to attempt the Engineering-in-Training exam (EIT), also known as the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE), in order to register for Senior Design I (ME 4971). While attempting the exam is no longer required, students are encouraged to take and pass the FE exam to become eligible to sit for the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.
