BMES Makeathon Sketch 2016

Cal State LA places in top five at Biomedical Design Competition.
A team of 5 undergraduates from the Cal State LA chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) competed in and placed in the top 5 out of 15 teams from USC and Cal Poly Pomona at a biomedical design competition hosted at USC Feb. 25th – 27th.  Over the course of the 30-hour period, the teams learned of the competition rules and the design prompt, designed and presented their device to a panel of judges.  The BMES team designed a flexible splint system with adjustable tension and rigidity, in response to the competition prompt which was to design a re-usable, wearable device to treat musculo-skeletal injury in 0-gravity. Led by senior Brian Lee, the team consisted of Brian, Jonathan Rey, Allen Dumaua, Alberto Cortes, and Eric Nurwono. Congratulations to the BMES Make-a-thon team!
