Title IX and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Assessment Summary Reports
In March 2022 the CSU Board of Trustees commissioned the Cozen O’Connor law firm to conduct a comprehensive systemwide assessment of the university’s implementation of its Title IX and other anti-discrimination programs following concerning reports of sexual harassment and other misconduct.
The goal of the assessment—which included site visits at all 23 CSU universities and the Chancellor’s office and feedback from over 18,000 students, staff and faculty—is to strengthen the CSU’s institutional culture by assessing current practices and providing insights, recommendations and resources to advance the CSU's Title IX and DHR training, awareness, prevention, intervention, compliance and support systems, as well as campus culture and climate.
On July 17, 2023 the findings of the assessment were released.
2023 California State Auditor Report
In late April 2022, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC) of the state legislature recommended the California State Auditor (CSA) audit the CSU system's handling of sexual harassment complaints involving executives, faculty and staff at the CO and three campuses: Fresno State, SJSU (San José State University), and SSU (Sonoma State University). More information about the state audit can be found on their website.
