Description

Self-advocacy is necessary for navigating every-day life, and they are especially valuable for navigating college. Studies show that the presence of self-advocacy skills contributes to positive educational outcomes for college students with disabilities. However, advocacy can be difficult if we do not have the tools to identify our needs and communicate them effectively. That's where scripting comes in! Scripting is a useful tool for neurodivergent people because it allows them to prepare for conversations that may be tough to tackle on the spot in social interactions or via e-mail. Join the NDC in working through self-advocacy scripts so you can be better prepared to interact with instructors and classmates to get your needs met.
