Physics 1570 Lab Videos

Background

In 2015, Desiree Rose and Jillian Tromp collaborated with Cal State LA's Information Technology Services to create a series of instructional lab videos for what was then called Physics 156. The videos were meant to complement the lab and may still be useful today, though certain equipment has been updated since filming.

Additional videos and corresponding supplemental files were created in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic by our Instructional Support Technician, Jacob Labry. With the closure of campus and the move to remote learning, a new method for hands-on lab instruction was necessary and thus, the rapid creation of these instructional lab videos. This material is still useful for previewing the lab, but it is not a substitute for the current in-person lab courses. Each week students can watch the video for the next experiment prior to attending their lab class to understand how the equipment is to be used and how data is to be acquired. Faculty, students, and staff are encouraged to submit any questions, comments, or additional feedback to our Instructional Support Technician, Jacob Labry, using this online feedback form.
