Where Can I Park?
It is the responsibility of all drivers to know and understand the university parking rules and regulations. Parking regulations are enforced 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, including semester break and, holidays. Please obey all posted signs and/or curb markings.
Student, Non-Affiliated, Daily, and Faculty Staff Permits Are valid in the following areas
- Lot 1
- Lot 2
- Lot 5
- Parking Structure A (All Levels)
- Parking Structure B (C Level)
- Structure C (3rd Level)
- Structure D (All Levels)
- Structure E (All Levels)
Daily rates are available for student and general parking through PayByPhone or at the Pay Stations.
Time Restricted Areas
- Lot 1A - Faculty, Staff, Student & General parking is available after 4 pm
- Lot 3 - Student & General parking is available after 5:30 pm
- Parking Structure B (B Level) - Student & General parking is available Mon through Thurs after 5:30 pm. Fri, Sat, and Sun all day.
- Lot 10 - Student & General parking is available Mon through Thurs after 5:30 pm. Fri, Sat, and Sun all day.
PayByPhone location codes for these Time Restricted Areas are only active during permitted parking times.
Faculty Staff Permits Are valid in the following areas
- Lot 3
- Lot 6
- Lot 9
- Lot 10
- Parking Structure A (All Levels)
- Parking Structure B (All Level)
- Structure C (2nd Level)
- Structure D (All Levels)
- Structure E (All Levels)
Faculty Staff permits are also valid in Student and General Parking. Eligible employees may sign up for parking payroll deduction at www.calstatela.edu/parking/parking-permits
Resident Permits Are valid in the following areas
- Structure C, Level 1
- Structure E, Level 1 rows 1 and 2.
- Mariondale (east side)
- Paseo Rancho Castilla from Levanda (east) to Hellman bridge
Note: only GEA residents may park on Mariondale (west side)
Please be aware that there is a section reserved for Housing staff only.
2-Wheel Parking areas can be found in the following locations
- Lot 6
- Lot 10
- Lot 1 after 4pm
- Parking Structure B (All Levels)
- Structure C level 2
- Structure C level 3
- Structure E level 3
Regular vehicle permits can be assigned a 2-Wheel vehicle, but they must park in 2-Wheel areas. 2-Wheel permits are not valid on regular vehicles.
Disabled Parking is available in the following areas
- Lot 3
- Lot 4
- Lot 6
- Lot 8
- Lot 10
- Parking Structure A (All Levels)
- Parking Structure B (B Level)
- Structure C (All Levels)
- Structure D (All Levels)
- Structure E (All Levels)
All Parking Facilities have available Disabled spaces. A valid Cal State LA parking permit and Disabled placard/plates are required in accordance with California Vehicle Code §21113(a)/22507.8(a) and California Education Code §67301
Electric Vehicle Parking Is available in the following areas
EVCS Level 2 stations, $0.39 per kilowatt hour
- Parking Structure A, ground level has 3 stations with 6 ports.
- Parking Structure B, B-Level has 1 station with 2 ports.
- Parking Structure C, Blue Level has 1 station with 2 ports.
- Parking Structure E, 36 EV ports on first 3 parking levels.
- Parking Lot 3 has 2 stations with 3 ports.
- Parking Lot 6 has 1 station with 2 ports.
- Parking Lot 10 has 2 stations with 4 ports.
EVCS Level 3 DCFC Fast Chargers, $0.49 per kilowatt hour
- Parking Structure B, B Level, 3 stations with 6 ports.
- Structure E, 8 stations with 16 ports
Use of EV charging stalls requires a valid Cal State LA parking permit. Vehicles parked in EV charging stalls must be actively charging at all times. All posted charging time limits must be observed, regardless of the parking permit duration.
EV Drivers can register with EVCS at EVCS.com or download the EVCS App to be able to use the stations on campus. There is a time limit for charging and vehicles must hold a valid parking permit and must be charging while in the stall. Please make sure you are aware of the cost to charge for each station level. Information on pricing is noted on signage at each station site.
One-Hour Parking is available in Lot 4A and in front of the Student Union. Only One-Hour Daily permits are available and accepted in these locations. One-Hour permits can be purchased via PayByPhone or at the Pay Station located in the lot.
Permits for a duration longer than 1 hour are not valid in One Hour Areas.
