FAQ

Applicants are considered for housing placement on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once you apply and pay the $40 fee, you'll be assigned a space. You'll be assigned to a bed space based on availability. Students will receive an email to their Cal State LA email account, confirming their room reservation.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life is committed to equal opportunity in our housing facilities and will provide reasonable accommodations as determined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act (FHA) policies and guidelines, on a case-by-case basis. If you are a “qualified individual” with a documented disability who requires ADA housing accommodations, please contact the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) for more information on the registration process. You can find out more on the OSD website or by contacting them at 323-343-3140 or [email protected].

Once you have received a housing assignment confirmation, you will be able to view your spring housing charges and make a payment on GET. Payment must be submitted by February 9, 2024. Students assigned after the payment deadline will be given 48 hours to make their spring payment. The due date and amount due will be posted on students' GET accounts.

Failure to submit your payment by the deadline will result in the cancellation of your housing assignment and License Agreement. For Rates & Payments, visit our website.

Applicants who wish to cancel their spring 2024 Housing License Agreement may request to cancel by filling out the Cancellation Form Before the Start of the License Agreement by the cancellation deadline of December 18, 2023. Log into the Housing Portal, then click on the Housing Forms tab to access the License Agreement Cancellation Request Form.

After December 18, students with a room reservation who wish to cancel will be required to fill out the Petition to Cancel Form and upload supporting documentation. All Petitions to Cancel are requests and must meet the conditions as specified in the License Agreement in the section entitled Cancellation Prior to Occupancy Without 30-day Notice [Section III.C.2 (Housing) and/or Section III.E.2 (Meal Plan)]. The Office of Housing and Residence Life reserves the right to approve or deny cancellation requests.

All cancellation requests must include supporting documentation for the reason for the cancellation request. Failure to provide supporting documentation will result in a delay of the petition review process. After the request form and supporting documentation have been submitted, it will take one to two weeks to review the petition. If approved for a housing cancellation, a student’s housing fees will be removed or adjusted according to the License Agreement Cancellation Policy.
