Lia D. Kamhi-Stein - Biography

Lía D. Kamhi-Stein is a Professor and Coordinator of the MA in TESOL Program in the Charter College of Education at Cal State LA, where she teaches courses in methods of second language teaching; the integration of computers in the language classroom; educational sociolinguistics; and the teaching practicum. In addition, she designed and supervises two community-based ESL programs offered at Cal State LA. Lía, who is originally from Argentina, is a former EFL/ESL instructor and has worked with ESL/EFL teachers from around the world. Lía has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the TESOL Association and President of the California TESOL Association. She is a recipient of several teaching awards, including the Cal State LA Outstanding Professor Award and the TESOL Association Excellence in Teaching Award.
