We want you to know important facts that pertain to your life as a Cal State LA student. For information about the following topics, please refer to the website listed. Fees - The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fee, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees. In addition, the Net Price Calculator is available to assist students and their families with calculating the likely costs of attendance.

Financial Aid – Cal State LA’s Financial Aid and Scholarships Office is committed to helping current and prospective students obtain financial assistance available from federal, state and institutional sources to support their cost of attendance at Cal State LA. Student Privacy Rights - The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA is a federal law that applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. To learn about how Cal State LA protects your confidential education records, visit the Cal State LA (FERPA) Policy website. Graduation, Retention, and Transfer Rates - Information regarding graduation, retention and transfer rates for all California State University campuses can be accessed on the CSU's Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange website. In addition, you can also find information on the website of the National Center for Educational Statistics. Academic Programs, Faculty, Registration, Transferring Credits, and Articulation - Visit the Cal State LA website for information about academic programs available at Cal State LA, learn more about our faculty, and find information about the University’s accreditation. The University Registrar page is your one stop source for information regarding deadlines, registering for classes, adding or dropping classes, withdrawing from one or more classes and the forms required when completing these processes. If you’re interested in learning more about Cal State LA contracts with other academic institutions, visit the transferring credits and articulation agreements pages. Job Placement and Post-Graduate Study - Information regarding job placement reported by Cal State LA graduates can be obtained on the Career Center website. Academic Advising - Information regarding Academic Advising can be obtained on the Academic Advisement website. To request additional and/or printed information about University Academic Advising, email them at [email protected].

Athletics - In compliance with the Equity Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA), the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at Cal State LA reports required information to the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and directly to prospective students being offered an athletic grant and to their parents. Information on the participation rates and financing of Cal State LA intercollegiate athletic programs may be found at the U.S. Office of Postsecondary Education website. Reports on completion and graduation rates for student athletes are available on the NCAA website. Voter Registration - Information regarding how to register to vote, voter information, and knowing your representatives can be found on the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) website. Public Safety – Information on the Cal State LA Annual Security Report is available for current and prior years.  The annual Fire Safety Report is also available.  You may download the complete, printable, PDF brochure to your computer using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
