Students can sign up for 1 on 1 and group sessions with employers. Please read Handshake’s guide on Signing Up for & Managing Virtual Fair Sessions for more information. You may join 5 minutes before the session to check for any video or audio issues.
Starting September 1, you may begin to register for employer sessions in advance. Please note that sessions are on a first come, first served basis so make sure to plan accordingly.
You may upload your résumé on Handshake. Make sure that you click the “Feature on Profile” button to make the document public.
- Keep your mic muted when you are not speaking to avoid disrupting the speaker and to limit background noise.
- Don’t be afraid to ask your career-related questions.
- Be mindful of the time limit provided by the employer (average time is 10 minutes per session).
- Thank the speaker in the chat session when leaving the meeting.
The Career Fair is not meant to serve as an interview, but your experience and interaction will depend on how many participants register for the same employer. Think of the Career Fair as your opportunity to develop your personal brand and begin networking.
There will be Virtual Help Rooms available for students on the day of the fair for assistance. However, we recommend Handshake’s Participating in a Virtual Fair guide before the day of the fair.
