Annual Economics Department Federal Reserve Simulation

On Thursday April 27 the Department of Economics and Statistics hosted the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank University Symposium. The event recreated a Federal Open Market Committee meeting where policymakers analyze economic data and suggest a course for monetary policy. Students from Economics 4350, Market Indicators and Federal Reserve Policy, produced forecasts for key economic variables including Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment, and inflation. Their participation concluded with recommendations for monetary policy.
