Program Review Workshop Series
The Program Review workshop series is designed to support programs throughout the review cycle, from initial planning and self-study preparation through the use of institutional data and assessment evidence.
Orientation for the Self-Study Process
The orientation workshop introduces the Program Review process, major stages of the review cycle, self-study expectations, planning activities, and resources available to programs preparing for review.
Modified Program Review
This workshop is intended for programs that maintain specialized or professional accreditation. It addresses how accreditation materials may be incorporated into University Program Review and how programs can identify information that may need to be addressed through a modified self-study.
Data & Institutional Evidence
Data-focused workshops help programs identify and use institutional information relevant to the self-study. Topics may include enrollment, student success, retention and graduation, survey results, assessment evidence, and other indicators used to examine program effectiveness.
Meaningful Assessment
The meaningful assessment workshop supports programs in examining student learning evidence as part of Program Review. Topics may include program learning outcomes, assessment planning, interpretation of findings, and the use of assessment results to identify priorities for continued improvement.
Preparing for a Program Review Workshop
Programs can get the most from Program Review workshops by becoming familiar with their review schedule and beginning to gather relevant program information before attending. Depending on the workshop topic, participants may find it helpful to review existing assessment plans, learning outcomes, prior Program Review recommendations, and available institutional data.
Programs preparing for the self-study may also want to identify:
- The faculty member or team coordinating the self-study
- Current program learning outcomes and curriculum maps
- Recent annual assessment reports and assessment findings
- Student, alumni, or other stakeholder data available to the program
- Prior Program Review findings or recommendations
- Questions about sections of the self-study or review process
