The mission of the Health Promotion and Education Center is to support academic excellence through the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based health and wellness programs. We strive to collaborate with campus stakeholders to provide all students with foundational knowledge and skills to achieve lifelong wellbeing and foster a healthy campus environment.

Wellness Workshops
HPEC provides a variety of workshops focused on expanding knowledge and skills for whole person well-being.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to request a presentation on health topics, including general health, sleep, nutrition and sexual health.

CPR Training

PH 4960 Internship
HPEC and university's department of public health host PH 4690 interns during fall and spring.

Naloxone Administration Training
This training teaches participants how to recognize the sign of an opioid overdose and administer the reversal agent Narcan (Naloxone).

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training is available for Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff. Learn how to help others experiencing a mental health challenge.

Get involved
Join the Student Health Ambassadors at Cal State LA (SHAC) to become a certified Peer Health Educator and help plan health outreach events.

Family Planning
Our certified health counselors are available for one-on-one reproductive life planning sessions with eligible students.
