Mental Health First Aid Training
We are offering Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for faculty and staff at Cal State LA. Participants learn risk factors and warning signs of serious and developing mental health problems, how to talk with a person who might be experiencing a mental health problem and strategies to help identify the next best steps. To receive an MHFA certificate of completion, participants have to stay for the duration of the training.
Training takes approximately 8 hours to complete — through fully in-person sessions or a combination of online work and in-person or virtual sessions. We require a minimum of five attendees per training or the training will be canceled.
8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Eight hours of training with breaks, plus brief assignments before and after the training.
