Degree and License: Irene began her academic journey at Los Angeles City College before transferring to Cal State East Bay, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology. She then continued her education at Cal State LA, earning a Master's degree in Counseling with a focus on school-based family counseling.

Areas of Specialty: Individual counseling, group therapy, first generation, students of color, and immigrant populations

Clinical Experience: Early adulthood counseling, youth and adolescent counseling, couples and family therapy, parenting support groups, and early childhood mental health services for children ages 0-5

Treatment approach: Irene Benitez is a proud first-generation Latina with an eclectic approach to therapy, skillfully integrating various therapeutic theories and tailoring her methods to meet the individual needs of her clients. She believes that there is no one-size-fits-all solution in therapy and is committed to creating a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore, grow, and heal. Irene also integrates mindfulness techniques into her practice, offering clients practical tools they can seamlessly incorporate into their daily lives to support their mental health and well-being.

Interests: Outside of her work, Irene enjoys indulging in a little retail therapy (often for things she doesn’t necessarily need), spending quality time with her dogs, and diving into documentaries. She is honored to walk alongside her clients on their mental health journey, helping them navigate life's challenges with empathy and understanding.
