BUS DETOURS DURING CONSTRUCTION
Bus Detours During Construction Phases
The project will be completed in multiple phases to minimize disruption to campus transit systems. Please observe all posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel.
Bus Drop Off: South curb of Circle Drive, across from the high school.
Exit Route: Buses exit via the Uber/Lyft passenger zone (temporarily modified for bus clearance).
Note: No stopping or idling allowed at the turn-about.
Layover Area: North curb of Circle Drive, in front of the high school.
Work Area: Pavement replacement on Campus Road.
Traffic Impact: Campus Road closed to all vehicular traffic.
Bus Drop-Off: Northwest corner of State University Drive and Campus Road.
Pedestrian Access: Sidewalks remain open for safe foot access to and from campus.
During Phases 3 & 4, Campus Road and the Transit Center fully restored and operational buses will have access to the CSULA Transit Center.
- Phase 3 (February 21 – April 5) the south lane of Circle Drive will be closed. All transit vehicles will use the north lanes to access the transit center.
- Phase 4 (April 6 – May 15) the north lane of Circle Drive will be closed. All transit vehicles will use the south lanes to access the transit center.
Route Instructions
- Inbound Bus Operations: Buses will proceed eastbound via Circle Drive, then merge left to continue east on the westbound lane to access the alternate transit center terminal.
- Outbound Bus Operations: Buses will turn right onto Circle Drive and resume their regular route along Campus Road.
Completion: Once this phase ends, there will be no restrictions on bus movements.
