What is Neurodiversity Awareness Month?

Neurodiversity Awareness Month is dedicated to recognizing, respecting, and celebrating neurological differences, such as, but not limited to, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and Tourette syndrome.

The goal of this celebration is to promote understanding and acceptance of the neurodiverse community and its members, to challenge stigma, and to create supportive and inclusive environments.

The Neurodiversity Infinity Symbol and Rainbow:

Rainbow infinity symbol; symbol for the neurodivergent community, with Cal State Los Angeles Logo embedded in the second loop.

Represent the vast, diverse, and non-linear spectrum of human neurotypes.

Created to replace the puzzle piece, it symbolizes limitless potential, neurodiversity acceptance, and a rejection of the idea that neurodivergent individuals are broken or in need of fixing.
