And the job hunt begins! Droves of eager Cal State LA students connected with employers for our first Winter Career Fair. Twenty-eight employer partners from various industries including, Nestle, New York Life, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and the Staples Center joined over 250 College of Business students at the event. Students chatted with recruiters, passed out resumes and met with representatives from CBE clubs including the Entrepreneurial Collegiate Consulting Organization (ECCO) and the Healthcare Management Association (HCMA).
Prior to the event several savvy students attended resume and interview workshops offered by the Career Development Center and the LinkedIn Workshop hosted by the Accounting Society. Employers posted open positions on the event website to help students understand their needs and the CBE Placement Services distributed maps listing employer tables by hiring major. Employers were especially pleased with the turnout as a record number of students attended the event.
