Nadia Watson is the Marketing Communications Specialist for the CBE. Responsible for day-to-day communication activities and social media strategy, Nadia excitedly supports the College’s mission. Having a keen eye for all things aesthetically pleasing and a passion for life, Nadia is a natural at visual storytelling.
Earning a Communications Degree from St. John’s University, Nadia has learned to preserve her charm while navigating through diverse environments and personalities. Thriving in a fast-pace environment, Nadia has since evolved into a versatile social media strategist and a confident communicator.
Following graduation, Nadia was a contributor to The Huffington Post for two years where she’d closely monitor the news cycle, write culturally relevant human-interest stories, and produce original video scripts. Coupling tactful media outreach, market research, and charisma allowed me to interview ESPN anchors, Civil Rights activists, and other community and government leaders.
She then took her writing and production skills to Beverly Hills where she was the PR Manager for the top luxury real estate firm in the city, Hilton & Hyland. Here, she would spend the next three years managing all media, press, and public relations issues for the company, develop corporate communications strategies and expand company recognition to further business goals. Before leaving the position, Nadia wrote the script and directed the company’s founder video as well launched the company’s new marketing initiative leveraging their luxury listings with top international magazines to marry high-end fashion with high-end real estate. Nadia is confident she will do the same in regards to telling the story of LA’s best kept secret, Cal State LA.
When she isn’t working, Nadia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and watching her Ohio State Buckeyes on College Football Saturdays. Go Bucks!
