Ever since she was younger, Mariah Moreno was in honor programs in school. From an early age, she has always strived to be a step ahead – and it is reflected in her college career today.
Majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, Mariah is making the most of her college experience in and outside of the classroom. She is the President of the Resident Housing Association, the Director of Events and Treasurer for the Marketing Club, and the Career Development Student Assistant where she assists with social media, plans events, and prepares emails to send to students.
Her biggest influence is Nikita Lau, the CBE’s Career Development Coordinator. “I see how hardworking she is and all the work she does behind the scenes. A lot of people don’t get to see that side of her, but working with her, I find it very fascinating how dedicated she is to her students.”
If she could be any fictional character, Mariah likened herself to Belle, from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, prioritizing her studies over everything else. However, she also understands that being such an active member of the CBE requires a lot of multi-tasking so she shared a few words of advice for new students: “Try to find a balance between work and school and simply being involved on campus. I know it can be really hard so it’s good to find a balance and find time for yourself, your friends, and to do fun stuff outside of school.”
