The 2019 John Gerro Real Estate Symposium was held on Friday, March 8th, 2019. The annual symposium attracts industry leaders from notable real estate organizations, developers, major property owners, entrepreneurs, and related service-oriented entities.
This year’s Symposium panelists included Bruce Baltin who is the Managing Director of CBRE Hotel Advisory, Michael De Leon the General Manager of EB Arrow, Jack R. Cline Jr. who is the Senior Vice President and Principal of Lee & Associates, and Nico M. Vilgiate the Vice President of Colliers International Los Angeles. Leslie Appleton-Young, the Senior Vice President & Chief Economist of the California Association of Realtors, was the Keynote Luncheon Speaker.
Morning keynote speaker Nico M. Vilgiate, Executive Vice President at Colliers International Los Angeles, detailed the growth of commercial real estate investment in Los Angeles from the downtown area to Santa Monica.
Bruce Baltin, Managing Director of CBRE Hotels, gave attendees an overview of the state of the lodging industry in Los Angeles County. The recovery and growth of Downtown L.A. have led the way for the promising outlook of both the commercial real estate and lodging industries.
Jack R. Cline Jr., Senior Vice President at Lee & Associates, discussed the exciting market and the major trends in the industrial real estate industry in Los Angeles. E-Commerce businesses are leading the way in the industrial real estate market.
Michael de Leon, Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle & General Manager at EB Aero, focused on the evolution of retail and how they are reinventing themselves to compete in the market.
Luncheon keynote speaker Leslie Appleton-Young, Senior Vice President & Chief Economist for the California Association of Realtors, addressed the state of California’s housing market and highlighted the need for more construction of affordable housing units in the state.
